In this blog was mentioned a site called "Wolphram Alpha. I was introduced to this site at the Model Schools Conference in Orlando Florida this past summer. This site will be amazing for students to use for research. You can search by genre, time periods, subject, location, era, etc. Another feature from this site is the read-aloud feature. Students that are struggling readers could still do research but instead of giving up when presented with all the info, could have it read aloud to them.
I am thrilled with Wolphram Alpha and am happy to see it mentioned in education blogs!

  3. I found TeacherBootcamp to be very interesting and full of creative ideas that I would like to try implementing in my classroom. I especially liked the idea in one blog about linking cell phones and SmartBoards. I think that would really engage many of my students.

  4. The Innovative Educator is a great resource for teachers wanting to incorporate more technology into their classroom...Twitter, Google Docs, Facebook, etc.

  5. I loved suewaters.wikispaces.com. There's and entire section called "PLN Yourself". Can't wait to spend more time there!

  6. I went to the innovative educator blog and read several articles about using cell phones, facebook and twitter with students. I can see the advantages of this with middle school and high schoolers that have cell phones at school. I'm not sure I would use this in elementary though.

  7. I like the idea of using cell phones for education! It is a little out of my comfort zone, but I am willing to explore and expand. I like the idea of polling and blogging for classroom assignments! I intend to try it.

  8. This is more great resources...I need all that I can absorb to make my classroom more functional. I don't want to waste my projector on dvds. This resource could not have come at a better time.
